Congratulations on the culmination of your academic journey with Rochester Community Schools! In the tradition of pride in excellence, we look forward to celebrating the commencement ceremony for the RHS Class of 2023 on May 31 at O’Rena.

We are excited to announce some great news and very important updates to our festivities!

Tickets: Each graduate has received 6 tickets at Senior Check-out on May 16th. 

Year-End Reminders: Is everything turned in? At the beginning of the school year, students were issued necessary learning tools including a Chromebook. In order to receive commencement tickets, all Chromebooks, laptops, hot spots, charging cables, textbooks, novels, instruments and uniforms must be turned in and all applicable fines must be paid. Please contact the main office of your school if you have questions about any of these items.

Senior Attire: Professional Dress is required for this event. If you need assistance with this, please reach out to Mrs. Miesch.  Graduates must wear designated caps and gowns. Only proper academic regalia may be worn (Honor medals, honor cords, and tassels).

  • Corsages, blue jeans, shorts, tennis shoes, sunglasses, balloons, etc., will not be permitted.

  • Graduates inappropriately dressed will NOT be able to participate in the commencement ceremony. 

  • Caps cannot be decorated in anyway; decorated caps will be removed.

Graduation Rehearsal: Rehearsal is Mandatory for all seniors to attend. 

  • 9:15am RHS Band, Orchestra and Choir will be arriving at OU.
    • Your bus will be leaving at 9am. Students please arrive by 8:45am if you are taking the bus to OU.
  • 9:15am-11:15am Music Rehearsal
  • 11:15am: All seniors arrive and check in
  • 11:30am-1pm: Senior Rehearsal

On commencement day, graduates will join a procession into the O’Rena and remain seated with their classmates in the student section. All other spectators may take advantage of general seating in Oakland University’s O’Rena. Once again, we congratulate this historic class of graduates for your outstanding accomplishments and resilience!
