Attendance Procedures

To report a student's absence, parents and guardians may 1.) call our attendance line or 2.) report the absence online using ParentVue.

1. Click above on "Reporting an Absence Online" for complete instructions.
2. Call our 24-hour attendance line no later than the day of at (248) 726-5410 and include the following information:

• Student's first and last name (spelled out)
• Parent name if different from student's last name
• Day and date of absence
• Reason for absence
• Phone number

To Note:

• Calls to excuse an absence are for one day only unless specified. Please call as early as possible: many calls come in between 7:00 - 7:45 a.m.
• Calls to excuse an absence must be from a parent or guardian.
• Illnesses: Read "When to Keep a Child Home from School" to assist in deciding whether an illness warrants staying home.
• To request homework missed during an excused absence, contact the teacher through ParentVue. (Access ParentVue instructions here.)  It is the student's responsibility make up missed classwork. Students may also choose to contact their teachers upon returning to school.

Partial Absences

When students are leaving the school building for any reason during the school day, they must sign out in the Attendance Office in order to receive an excused absence.

Student Late Arrivals or Early Dismissals

For students arriving late and needing their partial absence excused, call the attendance office at (248) 726-5430. Upon arriving late to school, students must report directly to the attendance office to sign in.
For students needing to leave school early, call the attendance office at (248) 726-5430 for an excused early dismissal.
